I Bet You Can't Tell Me...

…how many Autoresponder message/series you have written, published and completed?

Whether there were 3 messages, 5 or even the suggested 7 promoting your latest program, sooner or later they are completed,  so let's think about what happens next.

Some of your visitors have manually 'removed' themselves from further messages.  Others have finished the whole series but have not made a purchase. Have these email addresses disappeared into cyberspace?  Are they lost forever?

NO...!   Some can be recycled!  At any given time you have three categories:

  • REMOVED:  The people that have manually unsubscribed from your letters and are stored in your autoresponder's file.

  • FINISHED:  The people that have received all of your letters and are stored in your autoresponder's file under 'archive'.

  • CURRENT:  The people that are still receiving your letters and are stored in your autoresponder's file under 'active'.

While most people would consider the "CURRENT" field to be their only chance at making a sale, I would say this is a big mistake.

Naturally, the people who have manually asked to be removed have basically said they are not interested in your offer. Not much you can do about these except to DELETE them. But the people in the FINISHED, or your "archived list" or "inactive list", is another story.  They received all of your letters and never removed themselves.  Some may even have purchased your program or service.  Most might have moved on to other things, got distracted, or just never made it back to your site to order from you. These are potential sales and are NOT lost.  You can recycle these email addresses with your same offer, or a new one.

If your Autoresponder does not have a "Recycle Selected Subscribers" option, simply cut&paste (Import) the list yourself. This is not difficult, and you will have a SECOND chance to sell these prospects.  After all, they wouldn't have agreed to your first Autoresponder series if they were not looking for an offer --- the right offer.

Try to focus all of your attention on getting people into your Autoresponder! Once they are in, you have several chances at getting them to place an order.  If they don't buy the first offer, you have another chance with a new offer (providing they have not removed themselves). You can't forecast if a prospect will return to your Website, but once in your Autoresponder the real selling begins because they are there for good, or until they elect ‘remove’.

There are many ways to advertise your Autoresponder address, and get inquiries to ask for... let's say " My Tips Report". Advertise something like:  "Send for my free report to learn all the shortcuts that the Marketing Professionals use" --or word your message so that you generate an interest. Use traffic-programs, ezine ads, banners, letters, articles, etc.

Periodically, you must log in to recycle the "finished subscribers" but delete the "removes" before you do. When I discovered this small but practical maneuver I began to see a higher ROI (ReturnOnInvestment).  It's like getting an extra mile or two for your efforts. You can do this too.

Now put this into practice and go to your Autoresponder to see how many "archive email addresses" you can recycle.
